Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a passionate Music Teacher to join a secondary school in the Wellingborough area. The role involves planning and delivering Music lessons, inspiring students across KS3 and KS4 and preparing pupils for GCSE Music where required.

You will work within a supportive environment, focusing on developing musical creativity, confidence and performance skills while maintaining high standards of behaviour and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Music in a secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of practical and theoretical Music.
• Ability to deliver across KS3 and KS4.
• Knowledge of GCSE Music requirements.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach a range of musical skills including performance, composition, listening and theory.
• Introduce students to different genres, instruments and styles.
• Prepare students for GCSE Music examinations where required.
• Deliver practical and creative activities to encourage participation.

• Adapt teaching methods for diverse abilities and learning styles.

The Role

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Have experience teaching Music within a secondary school environment, including relevant teaching placements.
• Have strong subject knowledge across practical and theoretical Music.
• Are confident delivering Music lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Have experience or knowledge of GCSE Music requirements.
• Can create engaging, practical and creative learning opportunities.
• Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Are enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to supporting student progress.
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Are passionate about encouraging young people to develop their musical abilities.
