Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a secondary school in Wellingborough. You will plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4, prepare students for GCSE exams, and help develop reading, writing and analytical skills.

The role requires QTS or equivalent, strong knowledge of English, excellent classroom management, and a commitment to inclusivity.

Qualifications

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English in a secondary school with relevant placements.
• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
• Confident delivering English across KS3 and KS4 with GCSE familiarity.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

The Role

• Developing students' reading comprehension, creative writing and analytical skills.
• Encouraging students to express their ideas confidently through written and verbal communication.
• Adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning styles.
• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Supporting students who may require additional guidance with literacy and English.
• Creating a positive, inclusive and productive classroom environment.
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues within the English department.
• Encouraging a love of reading, literature and creative expression.

What Are We Looking For?
