Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a passionate Music Teacher to work across secondary schools in Redcar, with immediate start. Open to full-time, part-time or flexible supply roles, and both experienced teachers and ECTs are encouraged to apply.

You will plan and deliver music across KS3/KS4, develop performance and composition, assess progress, and support extracurriculars. QTS/QTLS or equivalent qualifications are required, along with DBS and two references.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS (or strong FE/Music teaching experience with relevant qualifications)
• Experience teaching Music within a secondary school setting
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Music education
• Confidence delivering both practical and classroom-based Music lessons
• A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Two professional references covering the last 2 years

Responsibilities

• Developing pupils' skills in performance, composition, and listening
• Supporting students with a range of musical abilities and interests
• Assessing pupil progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
• Encouraging creativity, confidence, and participation within lessons
• Managing behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Working collaboratively with department staff and pastoral teams
• Supporting extracurricular music clubs, performances, concerts, or enrichment where required

About the Role

As a Music Teacher, your responsibilities may include:

Requirements

• QTS or QTLS (or strong FE/Music teaching experience with relevant qualifications)
