Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Technician for our Bourne End site. You will inspect, maintain, diagnose faults, test, install, modify or repair mechanical and electrical plant with minimal supervision to keep sites operational for customers.

Key duties include planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, and on-site advisory support. A time-served electrical background with mechanical upskilling and a driving license are essential; PPE/tools/van provided.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems and combined skills in mechanical work.
• Upskilling with mechanical NVQ2/3 is crucial to dual-skill capability.
• A valid driving license is essential; company provides vehicle and tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled planned maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Investigate plant faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Provide technical advice and training support to trainees as needed.
• Work with pumps, control gear, motors, VSDs, valves, and related equipment.
