Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician for our Chingford WTW team. The role covers inspecting, maintaining, fault diagnosing, testing, installing, modifying or repairing mechanical and electrical plant with minimal supervision to keep sites operational for our customers.

You will work 38 hours Mon-Fri 7:30am–3:36pm, with PPE, tools, company van and a fuel card provided. A time-served electrical apprenticeship and an up-skilled mechanical qualification are crucial, as is

Qualifications

• Time-served apprentice with significant electrical experience in a multi-skilled role.
• Upskilled with a mechanical qualification to inspect, maintain and repair equipment.
• Willingness to dual-skill to cover both electrical and mechanical tasks.
• Full driving licence is essential and PPE/tools are provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs to avoid process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and training to trainees as required.
• Work on pumps, 3-phase motors, VS drives, PLCs and control gear.
• Participate in standby rota following the relevant training.
