Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician for Maple Lodge STW. You will inspect, maintain, diagnose faults, test, install, modify or repair mechanical and electrical plant with minimal supervision to keep sites operational for customers.

Requires time-served electrical apprenticeship and upskill in mechanical NVQ; driving licence essential; van, tools, PPE provided. Competitive salary up to £45,000 with benefits.

Qualifications

• Time-served/apprentice with significant electrical experience.
• Upskilled with mechanical qualification for plant inspection and repair.
• Willing to develop dual-skilled status for candidates with electrical or mechanical focus.
• Strong health and safety awareness and physical fitness for confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Investigate faults and repair quickly to minimise downtime.
• Provide technical advice and training to technical trainees when required.
• Work on pumps, control gear, motors, VSDs, and PLC-based systems.
• Participate in standby rota following required training.
