Job summary

Sanctuary Maintenance – Rochford is seeking a Multi-Trade Operative (Plumber / Wet Trades / Carpenter) to perform repairs across Rochford, Basildon and surrounding areas. The role includes lone working with occasional team support, and a company van and tools are provided.

You will carry out construction, fault fixing, and maintenance to contract specifications, maintain records, and respond promptly to service issues.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical). If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS).
• Recent experience of undertaking a similar role.
• Experience analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
• PC literacy and ability to use computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling.
• Driving a company vehicle requires a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications.
• Provide accurate progress updates and maintain daily work records.
• Respond to complaints and breakdowns to meet customer expectations.
• Resolve problems or initiate resolution while keeping customers informed.
• Maintain tools and equipment and manage stock replenishment.

Multi Trade Operative – Plumber / Wet Trades / Carpenter

Based at Rumsey House, Rochford - Working across Rochford, Basildon and surrounding areas

£39,324 per year

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm

We have several new opportunities for Multi-Trade Operatives to join our day to day team, based in Rochford. With a mix of skills and qualifications, the roles will involve working on repairs predominantly in domestic void properties and will cover all aspects of general building repairs and maintenance, including doors and windows. The roles are mainly lone working with opportunities to work with the wider team as and when required, sharing out of hours call outs on a rota basis. With a company van and tools included the role will cover several sites across Rochford, Basildon and the surrounding areas.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative – Plumber / Wet Trades / Carpenter will include:

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in accordance with contract and service specifications
• Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensure accurate daily work records are completed
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations in accordance with contract and service specifications
• Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed in line with agreed processes and within contract and service specifications
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed, in accordance with the agreed requisition procedures and budgets

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
• Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
• Working experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
• Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
• PC literate and able to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
