Job summary

Sanctuary Group is seeking a Multi-Trade Operative to join our maintenance team in Gloucester, covering Gloucester, Swindon, Bristol and Reading areas. The role involves performing carpentry, painting and decorating, bricklaying, plumbing and general maintenance in domestic void properties, with a strong plumbing background as the primary trade.

A company van is provided, tools supplied, and you will work on a rota of approximately 1 in 9 weeks for emergency on-call duties, with a competitive

Qualifications

• Must be NVQ Level 2 in carpentry or electrical; Plumbing Level 3 with WRAS may be required.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Valid UK driving licence required to drive company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties per contract specs.
• Maintain tools and equipment; restock as needed.
• Respond to complaints and breakdowns; inform customers of progress.
• Provide accurate and timely information on progress of works.

Multi-Trade Operative

Gloucester – covering Gloucester, Swindon, Bristol and Reading areas

£35,579 - £37,452 per year

40 hours per week

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our team. As a Multi-Trade Operative you will be working as part of a team with some lone working also required. These works are predominantly in domestic void properties and duties include carpentry, painting and decorating, bricklaying, plumbing and general maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong plumbing background as their primary trade, complemented by experience across a range of multi-trade disciplines.

Due to the nature of the role, a company van will be provided as well as power tools for you to complete jobs to a high standard.

You will be required to be on an emergency call out rota, which will be approximately 1 in every 9 weeks.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
