Job summary

Sanctuary is seeking a Multi-Trade Operative in Ely, Cambridgeshire to perform a variety of responsive repairs and maintenance tasks across properties. The role combines lone working with team collaboration within a supportive environment, focusing on quality workmanship and first-time fixes.

The ideal candidate will have experience in carpentry, plumbing and related trades, hold relevant NVQ/Plumbing qualifications and a clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical) required or undertaking
• Plumbing Level 3 required
• Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS) required
• CSCS cards are not accepted during interview or verification
• Health and safety regulations knowledge essential
• Ability to drive and operate a company vehicle with full UK licence

Responsibilities

• Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Installation of new kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms, windows, doors and fencing
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and restocked as needed
• Respond to complaints and breakdowns, resolving or initiating resolution, and keeping customers informed
• Provide accurate and timely information on progress of works to customers

Multi-Trade Operative

Ely - Cambridgeshire

£35,579 - £37,452 per year

40 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 16:30pm

We have exciting opportunities for Multi-Trade Operatives to join our team based in Ely, Cambridgeshire, working alongside 19 other team members. These roles involve both lone working and collaborating with colleagues as part of a wider, supportive team. Day-to-day responsibilities will include carrying out a variety of responsive repairs and maintenance tasks, such as plumbing repairs, carpentry works, plastering, fencing repairs, kitchen upgrades, decorating, and general property maintenance.

We are keen to hear from candidates with experience in a range of primary trades, including plumbing, carpentry, plastering, painting and decorating, brickwork, tiling, and general building maintenance. The successful candidates will be proactive, customer-focused individuals who can deliver high-quality workmanship across a variety of repair and maintenance activities.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative

• Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Installation of new kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms, windows, doors and fencing
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical), Plumbing Level 3, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
• Skills in some of the following disciplines - carpentry, plumbing
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

• £35,579 per annum (rising to £37,452 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
