Job description

Sanctuary provides in-house repairs and maintenance services for an extensive portfolio of properties across Sanctuary organisations. Multi‑Trade Operative
Telford – covering Shropshire and the Midlands
£34,376 – £36,185 per year
40 hours per week

We are looking for a Multi‑Trade Operative to join our Operations Response team based in the Midlands. Covering sites across the Midlands and Shropshire, you will be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs to occupied properties, ranging from a leaking tap to changing baths, changing a door handle to hanging a new door. The team also carry out external repairs including fencing and groundworks. The role will include lone and team working, and you will also be required to be on an emergency call‑out rota. A company van and power tools will be provided for business use along with training as and when needed.

The role of Multi‑Trade Operative will include:
  • Attending occupied properties to carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties within Social Housing
  • Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Maintaining a suitable van stock level and restocking these when needed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
  • Providing out of hours cover via a call out rota
Skills and experiences:
  • To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented – G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role within social housing
  • Working knowledge of the health and safety regulations
  • Additional skills in some of the following disciplines – plumbing, carpentry and plastering
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
