Job summary

Sanctuary Group is recruiting a Multi-Trade Operative to support reinvestment work on assets and carry out day-to-day maintenance in customers’ homes. The role combines plumbing and carpentry tasks within a not-for-profit housing context to upgrade kitchens, bathrooms, windows and more.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, 40 hours weekly, with a focus on quality workmanship and safe, compliant delivery. A full UK driving licence is required, and extensive training is provided.

Qualifications

• To ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 legislation, candidates must be qualified to, or currently undertaking the qualification; NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical).
• Plumbing Level 3 and Unvented - G3 Certificate with Water Regulations (WRAS) are required credentials.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation.
• Skills in carpentry and plumbing are essential.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
• Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and plan ahead.
• A full UK driving licence is required to drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications.
• Instillation of new kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms, windows, doors and fencing.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed.
• Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, resolving problems or setting in motion the means of resolution, keeping customers informed.
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer.

Multi-Trade Operative

£35,579 - £37,452 per year 40 hours per week Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4.30pm

We have an opportunity for a multi-trade operative within the planned team carrying out reinvestment work on behalf of our assets team, medical adaptions in customers' homes, and very occasionally day-to-day work (i.e. voids). For this role you will be working as a working as a plumber and joiner to assist in delivering reinvestment work (replacement kitchens, bathrooms, windows etc.) in the specified timeframe. The successful candidate will be a forward ‑ thinking individual with a broad skill set across multiple trades, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and general maintenance.

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to, or currently undertaking the qualification; NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical), Plumbing Level 3, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
• Skills in some of the following disciplines – carpentry, plumbing
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
