Job description

We are looking for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Cramlington to undertake planned, preventive and reactive maintenance activities on equipment, tools and facilities across the whole site.

What you'll be doing
  • Responsible for ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times
  • Completion of effective planned preventive maintenance of equipment, tools and facilities, with an emphasis on breakdown prevention through the continual development of PPM procedures
  • Diagnose faults and complete reactive repairs across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment
  • Liaise with production, engineering, and external contractors to resolve issues quickly
  • Identify and order spare parts, ensuring stock is maintained at required levels
  • Root cause analysis of breakdowns and implementation of effective reoccurrence prevention plans using tools such as Major Breakdown Reports
  • Work as part of a maintenance team and demonstrate good communication skills in interfacing with other departments, suppliers, contractors and manufacturers as required
  • Operating access platforms including scissor lifts and cherry pickers
  • Use of PC for accessing information, emails and completing reports
  • Assisting with the training and mentoring of apprentices
Who we're looking for

To apply, we are looking for someone who has strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, has experience within a high volume-manufacturing environment, is competent in safe systems of work (LOTO, permits, isolation procedures) and has the ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals. You should also be computer literate and ideally have experience at using CMM's.
