Job summary

A leading food manufacturer in South Yorkshire is seeking a skilled Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer. The role involves ensuring machinery and equipment are maintained to meet operational needs, including reactive and proactive maintenance tasks. Ideal candidates will be time-served engineers with relevant certifications, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Qualifications

  • Fully qualified and time served engineer with a nationally recognised certificate.
  • Level 2 Food Safety and Level 3 CEIH Health & Safety preferred.
  • Experience of working with Shire PPM systems is an advantage.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team here at Yorkshire Baker on days, working 4 on, 4 off, 12-hour shifts. The main purpose of this role is to maintain the plant and equipment to meet the site operational needs whilst keeping the plant and equipment in safe working order.

Main duties include (but not limited to):

  • Reactive as well as proactive maintenance of site machinery, equipment and systems.
  • Maintaining high standards of Good Manufacturing Practice at all times. Making sure the Engineering Workshop and areas of work are maintained to an excellent level of housekeeping
  • Effective and efficient use of resources, including spare parts, consumables, and equipment
  • Carrying out PPM work in accordance with the schedule
  • Working within all of Technical, Health and Safety and Hygiene procedures at all times
  • Sourcing part numbers and communicating parts / materials required in a time efficient manner to the relevant person
  • Assisting site contractors where necessary
  • Attending training and development courses in order to competently work with all equipment, machines and systems on site
  • Site Fire Marshal Duties

Candidate requirements:

  • Fully qualified and time served engineer with a nationally recognised certificate
  • Level 2 Food Safety and Level 3 CEIH Health & Safety is preferred
  • Excellent motivational, organisational as well as interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working with Shire PPM systems, an advantage
  • Experience of controlling all aspects of contractors on site
  • Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines as well as prioritising their workload
