Overview

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) – Location: Stoke-on-Trent. Salary: £42,000 base with 13% Night Shift Uplift. Shifts: Rotating Early / Late / Nights (40 hours per week). Immediate starts available – 2 positions open. Join a leading engineering team in a high-tech logistics environment. We are recruiting electrically biased, multi-skilled maintenance engineers for a major logistics site that runs cutting-edge automation and high daily throughput.

The Role
  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyor systems, sorters, and tipping equipment
  • Work across electrical and mechanical systems, including control panels, drives, motors, and PLCs
  • Respond quickly to faults to minimise operational downtime
  • Replace belts, chains, bearings, and other key components
  • Liaise closely with control room staff, section leaders, and managers to ensure coordinated responses
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activity and shift handovers
  • Ensure all work meets Health & Safety and company standards
What We\'re Looking For
  • Recognised qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Strong background in electrical/mechanical maintenance
  • Solid understanding of PLC-controlled systems (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with 16th, 17th, or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Experience in fast-paced environments such as logistics, manufacturing, or sortation
  • Clear communicator, team-focused, and adaptable under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence
