Job summary

A leading food industry supplier based in Cambridge is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. The successful candidate will deliver preventative and reactive maintenance for electro-mechanical equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, fabricating parts, and ensuring maintenance records are properly managed. Ideal applicants should have a Level 3 engineering qualification and FMCG manufacturing experience. This role offers competitive salary and benefits including a pension and holiday entitlement.

Salary

£43,000 per annum plus annual standby of £3188 (£46,188) (Call out rota 1 week in 3) plus overtime.

About the Company

A long standing competitor in the food industry who source and import rice and grains from across the globe to produce a range of ingredients to UK manufacturers and wholesalers. They have been running for over 100 years and are still going strong!

Day to day
  • To deliver periodic and condition based preventative maintenance for all electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct 1st Level Reactive service and repair work for all equipment, diagnosing issues in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Fabricate spare parts for equipment utilising lathe, mill and welding activities.
  • Work with the Operations Teams to offer engineering expertise in the design and delivery of improvements in relation to the Continuous Improvement of electro-mechanical equipment, utilising 3rd part support where necessary.
  • To ensure procedure and maintenance records are maintained utilising CMMS system, as required.
  • Liaise with on‑site contractors.
  • To maintain relevant professional competence including undertaking training and development as appropriate both on and off site.
