Job summary

Lancer Scott Ltd. is seeking a Mobile Fabric Engineer to cover the Exeter area on a range of contracts. You will perform reactive and remedial maintenance, carry out carpentry, basic plumbing, tiling and other fabric tasks with a focus on safety and quality.

You must be IT confident, able to update work orders on a tablet, and hold a current UK driving license. Opportunities for overtime are available with enhanced rates for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2 or L3.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in building maintenance, especially reactive/remedial work.
• Knowledge of building systems related to reactive tasks (carpentry, plumbing, tiling, ground works).
• IT confident; comfortable updating work orders on a tablet/PDAs.
• Current Full UK Driving License.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high profile Clients and deliver the highest quality standards.
• Solve technical problems during reactive maintenance, including sourcing parts and seeking manufacturer support.
• Provide detailed write-ups of works to keep clients updated.
• Complete tasks within agreed timescales and regulatory specs.
• Liaise with Helpdesk for efficient response, individually or as part of a team.
• Observe health and safety standards and conduct risk assessments for every task.

Job description

This is a mobile Fabric Engineer role covering the Exeter area on a range of different contracts.

• Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high profile Clients and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas of your performance.
• Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
• Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
• Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
• Reporting and recording procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimise risks.
• Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
• Liaise closely with our Helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
• Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
• Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis. You will represent the Company and be courteous and professional in your dealings with them at all times. A customer-focused attitude with a practical problem solving approach.
• Excellent communication skills as the first point of contact for our key client and engineers.
• Well developed organisational skill with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast paced environment.

Essential:

• A relevant qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2 or L3
• Hold a minimum of 3 years' experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to reactive and remedial maintenance
• Demonstrate a general wide knowledge of building systems in relation to reactive tasks encompassing, fabric tasks including Carpentry, wet trade tasks, minor plumbing tasks, tiling and ground works.
• IT confident, used to working on a Tablet and updating work orders
• Current Full UK Driver's License

Desirable:

• FDIS or equivalent Fire door qualification
• IOSH - Working safely or CSCS Card
• Asbestos awareness training (UKATA)
• CSR/CSCS H&S qualification
