Job summary

Lancer Scott Ltd. is seeking a mobile maintenance technician for the Dorchester/Salisbury area. You will deliver reactive and planned maintenance across high-profile clients, using your initiative to source parts and seek manufacturer support when needed.

The role requires 3+ years in building maintenance, a relevant trade qualification (C&G/NVQ L2-L3), and a full UK driving licence. Company van, fuel card, and PPE are provided, with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2/L3.
• 3+ years in building maintenance (reactive/remedial).
• Knowledge of building systems and trades (carpentry, plumbing, tiling, etc.).
• Full UK Driver’s License.
• IT confident; PDA experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance services to high-profile clients and deliver quality work.
• Source parts & materials and seek manufacturer technical support as needed.
• Provide detailed write-ups of works to keep the client updated.
• Carry out works within agreed timescales and regulatory specs.
• Record procedures and logs to minimise risks.
• Use PDAs or electronic devices to complete work.
• Liaise with Helpdesk for efficient response, solo or in team.
• Observe health and safety and perform risk assessments.
• Represent the company in dealings with clients.
• Provide call-out response across all contracts.

What will be my core responsibilities?

This is a mobile role covering the Dorchester/Salisbury areas.

• Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high profile Clients and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas of your performance.
• Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
• Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
• Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
• Reporting and recording procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimise risks.
• Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
• Liaise closely with our Helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
• Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
• Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis. You will represent the Company and be courteous and professional in your dealings with them at all times.
• Provide a call out response across all contracts.

Essential:

• A relevant qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2 or L3
• Hold a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to reactive and remedial maintenance
• Demonstrate a general wide knowledge of building systems in relation to reactive tasks encompassing, fabric tasks including Carpentry, wet trade tasks, minor plumbing tasks, tiling and ground works.
• Current Full UK Driver’s License
• Experienced in using a PDA and generally IT confident

Desirable:

• FDIS or equivalent Fire door qualification
• Fire Compartmentation experience
• IOSH – Working safely or CSCS Card
• Asbestos awareness training (UKATA)
• CSR/CSCS H&S qualification
