Job summary

Lancer Scott is seeking a Mobile Fabric Engineer to cover the Birmingham and Coventry areas. You will provide maintenance services to our high profile clients and work to the highest quality standards.

In this role you will manage reactive tasks, source parts, document works and liaise with the helpdesk while keeping safety and contract specifications at the forefront. A full UK driving license is essential.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification to C&G or NVQ L2/L3.
• At least 3 years’ experience in building maintenance/reactive tasks.
• Wide knowledge of building systems including carpentry, plumbing, tiling, and ground works.
• IT literate; comfortable with Tablet and updating work orders.
• Current Full UK Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance services to high profile clients and uphold quality standards.
• Use initiative to solve technical problems in reactive maintenance; source parts and seek support.
• Provide detailed write-ups of works to keep the client informed.
• Complete works within timescales and comply with regulations and contract specs.
• Follow reporting/recording procedures including logs and risk controls.
• Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
• Liaise with Helpdesk for efficient response, solo or as part of a team.
• Adhere to health and safety through task risk assessments.
• Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients.
• Provide call-out response across all contracts.

What will be my core responsibilities?

This is a mobile Fabric Engineer role covering the Birmingham and Coventry areas. In this role you will:

• Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high profile Clients and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas of your performance.
• Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
• Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
• Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
• Reporting and recording procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimise risks.
• Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
• Liaise closely with our Helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
• Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
• Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis. You will represent the Company and be courteous and professional in your dealings with them at all times.
• Provide a call out response across all contracts.

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

Essential:

• A relevant qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2 or L3
• Hold a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to reactive and remedial maintenance
• Demonstrate a general wide knowledge of building systems in relation to reactive tasks encompassing, fabric tasks including Carpentry, wet trade tasks, minor plumbing tasks, tiling and ground works.
• IT confident, used to working on a Tablet and updating work orders
• Current Full UK Driver’s License

Desirable:

• FDIS or equivalent Fire door qualification
• IOSH – Working safely or CSCS Card
• Asbestos awareness training (UKATA)
• CSR/CSCS H&S qualification
