Job summary

Lancer Scott Holdings Ltd is seeking a mobile Fabric Engineer to cover Bristol and North Somerset. The role involves reactive maintenance across multiple contracts, problem solving, and detailed reporting of works carried out.

You will operate from a company van with fuel card, tablet, and tools, with overtime opportunities and a strong emphasis on safety and client service. Must hold a valid UK driving licence and relevant trade qualification.

Qualifications

• Qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2 or L3.
• Minimum of 3 years in a building maintenance/reactive/ remedial role.
• General knowledge of building systems including carpentry, plumbing, tiling and ground works.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance services to high profile clients and deliver the highest quality standards.
• Resolve technical problems during reactive maintenance, sourcing parts and getting manufacturer support.
• Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out for client updates.
• Complete works within agreed timescales and comply with regulations and contract specs.
• Maintain operation logs and risk controls, ensuring safety compliance.
• Use PDAs or electronic devices to capture work details and updates.
• Work independently or as part of a team and liaise with Helpdesk for swift responses.
• Observe health and safety standards and conduct risk assessments for tasks.
• Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients and engineers.
• Provide call-out support across all contracts.

What will be my core responsibilities?

This is a mobile Fabric Engineer role covering the Bristol and North Somerset area on a range of different contracts.

• Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high profile Clients and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas of your performance.
• Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
• Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
• Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
• Reporting and recording procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimise risks.
• Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
• Liaise closely with our Helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
• Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
• Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis. You will represent the Company and be courteous and professional in your dealings with them at all times.
• Provide a call out response across all contracts.

Essential:

• A relevant qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2 or L3
• Hold a minimum of 3 years' experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to reactive and remedial maintenance
• Demonstrate a general wide knowledge of building systems in relation to reactive tasks encompassing, fabric tasks including Carpentry, wet trade tasks, minor plumbing tasks, tiling and ground works.
• IT confident, used to working on a Tablet and updating work orders
• Current Full UK Driver's License

Desirable:

• FDIS or equivalent Fire door qualification
• IOSH - Working safely or CSCS Card
• Asbestos awareness training (UKATA)
• CSR/CSCS H&S qualification
