Job summary

Lancer Scott is seeking a mobile Fabric Engineer to cover the Birmingham and Coventry areas. You will provide reactive and planned maintenance, source parts, and deliver high quality service to our key clients while complying with current regulations and contract specifications.

The role uses PDAs/tablets, requires detailed work write-ups, and involves call-out duties across contracts. A relevant trade qualification (C&G/NVQ L2/L3), at least 3 years in building maintenance, and a full UK driving

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance services to high profile clients and deliver high quality standards.
• Use initiative to solve complex reactive maintenance problems, sourcing parts and seeking manufacturer support.
• Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to keep the client informed.
• Carry out works within agreed timescales and comply with regulations and contract specs.
• Reporting and recording, including logs and control measures to minimise risks.
• Utilise PDAs/tablets to complete works.
• Liaise with Helpdesk for efficient response to works, solo or in a team.
• Observe health and safety and conduct risk assessments for each task.
• Deal with clients daily, representing the company in a courteous, professional manner.
• Provide call-out response across contracts.

What will be my core responsibilities?

This is a mobile Fabric Engineer role covering the Birmingham and Coventry areas. In this role you will:

• Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high profile Clients and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas of your performance.
• Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
• Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
• Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
• Reporting and recording procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimise risks.
• Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
• Liaise closely with our Helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
• Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
• Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis. You will represent the Company and be courteous and professional in your dealings with them at all times.
• Provide a call out response across all contracts.

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

Essential:

• A relevant qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2 or L3
• Hold a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to reactive and remedial maintenance
• Demonstrate a general wide knowledge of building systems in relation to reactive tasks encompassing, fabric tasks including Carpentry, wet trade tasks, minor plumbing tasks, tiling and ground works.
• IT confident, used to working on a Tablet and updating work orders
• Current Full UK Driver’s License

Desirable:

• FDIS or equivalent Fire door qualification
• IOSH – Working safely or CSCS Card
• Asbestos awareness training (UKATA)
• CSR/CSCS H&S qualification
