Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Retail Relief Security Officer to provide a highly visible, customer‑focused security presence in retail environments, protecting people, stock and assets in line with site Assignment Instructions.

You will deter theft, support store operations, complete incident reports, and maintain documentation while ensuring compliance with SIA licences and CCTV where required. Deployment across multiple sites is common within a reasonable distance of your home.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail security or loss prevention.
• SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) required.
• CCTV knowledge and licence desirable.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work across multiple sites within reasonable distance of home.

Responsibilities

• Provide a highly visible security presence on the shop floor.
• Deter theft and respond to incidents following procedures.
• Support store operations and assist customers as needed.
• Complete incident reports and maintain documentation.
• Operate CCTV where applicable and monitor activity.
• Maintain professional conduct and a customer-focused approach.
