Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Retail Relief Security Officer for UK retail sites. You will protect the store, customers, staff, stock and assets by maintaining a visible security presence in line with site instructions.

You will help create a safe, welcoming shopping environment, prevent loss, and support store operations while meeting KPIs and SLAs. Ongoing training will develop security and customer service skills, with deployment across multiple sites as needed and occasional shifts at other

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail security, loss prevention or a customer-facing environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• SIA Licence (Security Guarding) – essential.
• CCTV Licence – desirable.
• SC Clearance – desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide a highly visible and approachable security presence on the shop floor.
• Deliver excellent customer service by assisting customers and guiding them in-store.
• Support day-to-day retail operations and respond to incidents with store management.
• Monitor store activity to identify suspicious behaviour and prevent stock loss.
• Carry out regular patrols of sales floor, stockrooms and external areas.
• Manage conflict situations professionally with a customer-first approach.
• Complete all required incident reports and maintain documentation.
