Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Retail Relief Security Officer to provide a visible security presence in a retail environment, deter theft, and support store operations.

The role requires delivering excellent customer service and maintaining safety across multiple sites with adherence to site Instructions. You will operate CCTV where applicable, complete incident reports, and maintain up-to-date licences while delivering service that meets KPIs and SLAs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail security, loss prevention, or a customer-facing environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) – essential.
• CCTV Licence – desirable.
• SC Clearance – desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide a highly visible and approachable security presence on the shop floor, deterring theft and anti-social behaviour.
• Deliver excellent customer service by assisting customers and guiding them to information and directions.
• Work with store management to support day-to-day retail operations and respond to incidents.
• Monitor activity to identify suspicious behaviour and prevent stock loss.
• Carry out regular patrols of sales floor, stockrooms, and external areas.
• Manage conflicts professionally with a customer-first approach.
