Job description

The Moving and Handling Trainer will support the Trust in delivering safe, compliant, and evidence-based moving and handling practice.

The post holder will provide high-quality training to clinical and non-clinical staff, support the implementation of safe systems of work, and contribute to reducing moving and handling-related incidents.

They will act as a specialist resource on safe patient handling, equipment use and ergonomic risk assessment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced qualified healthcare professional with a recognised degree or equivalent qualification (AHP or Registered Nurse).

As a qualified therapist/nurse you will have substantial experience within health or social care settings with proven knowledge with complex cases.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration to apply for this post. The delivery of moving and handling training at Darent Valley is in the process of change and you will have the opportunity to influence and develop the service and your scope of practise alongside the Band 7 Moving and handling Co‑ordinator.

This is a band 6 post but there could be an opportunity to appoint at band 5 in line with the person specification and if further training is required. This would then be undertaken over a 12 month period to ensure full compliance of the skills required to undertake the role.
