Job Description

This hybrid role requires reporting to Concord, NC, at least three times per week. The successful candidate will support GM Motorsports' simulation tools to enhance on-track performance, collaborating with race teams and engineering support teams to analyze data, develop simulation tools, and refine vehicle models.

Responsibilities

1. Serve as a key performance support engineer for GM Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup series.
2. Assist teams in fitting collected data for input into simulation models.
3. Improve and explore methods to enhance the simulation toolchain and race team performance.
4. Provide expert knowledge on simulation toolchain functionality and modeling practices.
5. Represent racing team needs in the development of simulation tools.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• 4+ years of professional motorsport experience.
• Proficiency with data analysis software like Pi Toolbox, MoTeC i2, and McLaren ATLAS.
• Knowledge of vehicle, tire, and aerodynamic modeling.
• Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to travel 10% annually.

Preferred:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Experience with driver-in-loop (DiL) simulators.
• Proficiency with Dymola/Modelica, C#, and Git.
