Job Description:

This role is categorized as hybrid, requiring reporting to Concord, NC at least three times per week.

The Role

We seek a Team Simulation Support Engineer to enhance our motorsports simulation toolchain, aiming to improve on-track performance by collaborating with race teams and support engineers on analysis studies, simulation development, and vehicle modeling refinement. The candidate must complete projects to high standards, on time, within budget, with proficiency in simulation and a passion for accurate models.

What You’ll Do

  • Support GM Motorsports in NASCAR Cup series as a key performance engineer.
  • Assist teams with data fitting for simulations.
  • Improve simulation tools and methods to enhance race performance.
  • Provide expertise on simulation functionality and modeling practices.
  • Represent racing team needs in simulation development.

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • 5+ years engineering experience.
  • 4+ years motorsport experience in a race team setting.
  • Proficiency with Pi Toolbox, MoTeC i2, McLaren ATLAS.
  • Knowledge of high-performance vehicle, tire, and aerodynamics modeling.
  • Analytical, customer-focused, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, with strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Flexible schedule, ability to travel 10% annually.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related.
  • Experience with DiL simulators.
  • Proficiency in Dymola/Modelica, C#, and Git.
