Job Description

We are seeking a Team Simulation Support Engineer to enhance our motorsports program by improving the utilization of our simulation toolchain across GM-supported series. The role involves providing engineering support to improve on-track performance, collaborating with race teams and support engineers, conducting analysis using offline and driver-in-loop (DiL) simulations, and developing simulation tools. The candidate must complete projects to high standards, on time, and within budget, demonstrating proficiency in simulation and a passion for vehicle modeling.

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a key performance support engineer for GM Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup series.
  2. Assist teams in fitting collected data for simulation input.
  3. Improve and explore methods to enhance the simulation toolchain.
  4. Provide expertise on simulation functionality and modeling practices.
  5. Represent racing team needs in simulation development.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • 4+ years in professional motorsport within a race team.
  • Proficiency with Pi Toolbox, MoTeC i2, McLaren ATLAS.
  • Knowledge of high-performance vehicle, tire, and aerodynamic modeling.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment; willing to travel 10% annually.
Preferred
  • Master's degree in related fields.
  • Experience with driver-in-loop (DiL) simulators.
  • Proficiency in Dymola/Modelica, C#, Git.
