Job summary

You’ll join RAC in the SMR division as a Mobile Vehicle Technician, delivering planned, pre-booked work across a local cluster. Expect diagnostics, servicing, and in‑depth repairs with a fully equipped RAC van and a structured schedule, not reactive callouts.

Base salary £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime and additional bonus opportunities. A 40-hour week with 8:30–17:00 core hours and 1 in 4 Saturdays awaits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance.
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs that would typically be done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Ensure vehicle safety checks align with RAC standards.
