Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role across the Taunton cluster, covering Taunton, Wellington, Minehead, Watchet and Williton. You’ll work on a pre‑booked schedule and perform servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs on‑site at members’ driveways and car parks.

Expect a fixed 40‑hour week with structured shifts, a guaranteed base of £40,170 and potential earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime and bonuses.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or 5+ years’ experience in the role.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
