Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform planned maintenance and diagnostics on vehicles at customers’ driveways and workplaces across the Taunton cluster area, with a fully equipped RAC van and set of tools.

The role offers a 40-hour week, core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm, and optional overtime opportunities. Base salary starts at £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

Education
