Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role covering Taunton and surrounding areas. You’ll perform pre-booked jobs with a fully equipped RAC van, diagnostics, routine servicing, and on-site repairs, away from emergency callouts.

The position offers a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, 40-hour weeks, and overtime/bonus opportunities. Full UK driving licence and 2+ years’ experience preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
