Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division and seeks a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service and repair customers’ vehicles on a pre‑booked schedule across the Taunton cluster and surrounding areas. You’ll use advanced diagnostics and carry out routine servicing, with the aim of delivering quality, on‑site solutions with professional customer interaction.

Expect a 40-hour week with some Saturday work, a competitive base salary (£40,170) with bonus opportunities and overtime that can drive earnings up

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years of experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
