Job summary

The RAC’s SMR division is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service pre-booked appointments across the Taunton area, performing diagnostics, routine servicing and in‑depth repairs with our fully equipped RAC van.

Salary is £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, a 40‑hour week (Mon–Sat, 8am–8pm), and overtime/bonus opportunities, plus pension, life assurance and exclusive staff discounts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
