Job summary

The RAC is recruiting for a Mobile Vehicle Technician within the SMR division. You will operate on a scheduled, pre-booked list of jobs with a RAC van, tools and diagnostics provided. There are no emergency callouts or roadside recoveries.

You will cover a Taunton cluster area including Taunton, Wellington, Minehead and surrounding towns, working 40 hours per week with a 8:30–17:00 core window and one in four Saturdays. Competitive pay and overtime options apply.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience in vehicle maintenance or repair roles.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of vehicles.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs performed away from a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
