Job summary

The RAC is expanding its Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role in the Luton cluster. You’ll perform pre-booked, on-site servicing, diagnostics, and repairs with a fully equipped RAC van and plan‑driven workflows.

You’ll work 40 hours per week with core hours and occasional Saturdays, benefiting from a structured development path, a pension, and additional perks as you advance in the RAC SMR program.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned servicing and diagnostics on customer vehicles.
• Use advanced mobile equipment to diagnose and repair.
• Provide in-depth repairs and recommend customer actions based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
