Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. The role offers a base salary around £40,178 with potential earnings up to £52,000, a guaranteed overtime option, and a 40-hour week with some Saturday work.

You will perform scheduled servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs in a planned, workshop-like environment on members' vehicles. You'll work with a fully equipped RAC van, tools, and support to deliver first-time fix quality.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience required in vehicle maintenance.
• 5+ years experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic; full UK driving licence with <6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you would normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
