Job summary

RAC is recruiting for a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division. The role offers a base salary of £40,178 with on-target earnings up to £52,000 and guaranteed overtime.

You will work a 40-hour week with core hours and occasional Saturdays, delivering planned repairs and diagnostics directly to members’ driveways and workplaces. You’ll start with a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform and advanced diagnostics tools.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
