Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll work on pre-booked visits across the Camborne cluster, servicing and repairing vehicles at members’ driveways and car parks.

This role offers a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, guaranteed overtime, a 40-hour week, and a 1 in 4 Saturdays. You’ll have an equipped RAC van, tools and ongoing development.

No emergency callouts; you’ll follow a structured schedule with planned work and support.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in vehicle maintenance.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Deep repairs you’d normally do in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
