Job summary

RAC is hiring for a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division. You will work on a planned, pre-booked schedule to service and repair vehicles, with no emergency callouts. You’ll receive a fully equipped RAC van, tools, and support to deliver high-quality work directly to members.

Expect a 40-hour week (Mon-Sat), a base salary of £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, and overtime options. The role covers the Plymouth cluster and surrounding areas with structured, non-reactive work patterns that

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs normally done in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
