Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform planned, on-site servicing and repairs, using mobile diagnostics tools and dedicated equipment, working on pre-booked appointments across the Newquay cluster.

You’ll operate a full 40-hour week with core hours and occasional Saturdays, earning £40,178 base with potential to £52,000 OTE, plus overtime and bonuses. You’ll be supported by RAC’s national service network.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years of experience in vehicle maintenance/diagnostics.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Routine servicing and in-depth repairs done on-site.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Work through a clearly planned schedule of pre-booked jobs.
