Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the UK. You’ll perform planned visits, routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs, all scheduled rather than reactive callouts.

You’ll work a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30–17:00 and 1 in 4 Saturdays. The role offers a competitive base salary of £40,178, OTE up to £52,000, and benefits including overtime, pension, life cover, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs normally done in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
