Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will handle pre-booked servicing and diagnostics from a fully equipped RAC van, visiting members at driveways and workplaces.

The role emphasizes planned work, structured schedules, and quality repairs with no reactive callouts. You’ll work a 40-hour week with some Saturdays, earning a base salary around £40k with OTE up to £52k, and overtime options to further increase earnings.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years' experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 5+ years in vehicle technician/Mechanic role is an alternative path.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics on vehicles.
• Perform in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Ensure vehicle safety checks meet RAC standards.
