Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician in its SMR division, covering Plymouth and surrounding areas. Work is pre-booked with a clear digital schedule; you will diagnose, service and repair on customers’ driveways and workplaces using mobile equipment, with no emergency callouts.

From day one you’ll have a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card and tools. The role offers a base salary of £40,170 with OT to £52,000 and a 40‑hour week, plus overtime and bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• Either: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
