Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. This role focuses on planned servicing and diagnostics delivered at driveways, car parks, or workplaces. A base salary of £40,170 with potential to £52,000 in bonuses and overtime supports a stable, planned workload.

Hours are 40 per week with core times 8:30–17:00 and one in four Saturdays. You’ll receive tools, a RAC van, and ongoing development as part of a structured, non-emergency mobile service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or 5+ years in related mobile roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs.
• Provide member-focused advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Operate with RAC standards for vehicle safety checks.
