Job summary

RAC Motoring Services is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. You will perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a pre-booked schedule, delivering high-quality roadside-ready work at members’ driveways and car parks.

This structured role avoids emergency callouts, offering predictable hours and a full 40-hour week with overtime and bonuses. You’ll be equipped with a RAC van, tools and diagnostics from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and maintenance.
• Perform diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Execute in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
