Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will work on pre-booked appointments in your local area with a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics, focusing on planned servicing and in-depth repairs rather than emergencies.

You’ll perform diagnostics, routine servicing, and safety checks, providing member advice and leveraging tools and support to ensure high quality service and timely repairs.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
