Job summary

RAC is recruiting Mobile Mechanics for its SMR division. You’ll work on pre-booked appointments in driveways and car parks, performing routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in‑depth repairs.

The role offers a base salary of £40,170 with potential to £52,000 with bonuses, a 40‑hour week (Mon–Sat), overtime options, and a comprehensive benefits package. You’ll operate across local areas, benefit from structured schedules, independent working, and opportunities to gain RAC

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years' experience
• Or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
