Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform pre-booked servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs at members’ driveways or workplaces, using a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics.

Expect a 40-hour week with some Saturdays, a London-weighted base salary of £45,370 with OTE up to £57,000, and benefits including overtime options, pension, and exclusive discounts. Training and progression are supported.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
