Job summary

RAC is recruiting Mobile Mechanics for its SMR division. You’ll work on pre-booked jobs in your local area with a clear digital schedule, not reactive breakdowns, using a fully equipped RAC van.

You’ll carry out routine servicing, diagnostics with advanced mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs, plus member advice and safety checks. The role includes a structured development pathway, overtime and bonus opportunities, and a stable 40‑hour week.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
