Job summary

RAC is seeking a skilled Mobile Mechanic/Technician to join our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division. This role focuses on planned servicing and repairs, with jobs scheduled in advance, driving a RAC van to members' driveways and workplaces.

You'll follow a structured development pathway, with opportunities to progress to accreditation. The base salary is £40,170, with on‑target earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime and performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics.
• In-depth repairs you would normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Operate with a clearly planned schedule of pre-booked work.
